Hi Diane,

If you don't have any of the tools/tools plug-ins, then the CS1J CICS Explorer SupportPac does currently need CICSPlex SM to do anything useful.

With CICS TS V3, the CICSPlex SM WUI provides a 'data interface' that CICS Explorer uses to discover your CICSPlex SM defined CICSplexes and the CICS defined to them.

Cheers ... Grant.

Hello, having just viewed the webcast for CICS Explorer and looking at the links provided, I do have a question.
It says it is not necessary to have other CICS tools - like Performance Analyzer, Interdependency Analyzer or Configuration Manager installed in order to utilize the CICS Explorer. I even found some place that said you did not need to have CICSPlex SM set up (just needs the API?).

With that being said, what functionality would a company see if they installed the Explorerer and did not have any of these other optional tools installed.

Thanks in advnace for your time.

If you haven't done so already, you should register for the CICS Explorer webcast scheduled for November 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.

<a href="http://www-01.ibm.com/software/os/systemz/webcast/5nov/" rel="nofollow"> Just follow this link </a>

I can't promise fireworks, but the webcast will feature a demonstration of the IBM CICS Explorer, and provide details of how you can obtain a copy.
