If you don’t have any of the tools/tools plug-ins, then the CS1J CICS Explorer SupportPac does currently need CICSPlex SM to do anything useful.

With CICS TS V3, the CICSPlex SM WUI provides a ‘data interface’ that CICS Explorer uses to discover your CICSPlex SM defined CICSplexes and the CICS defined to them.

It says it is not necessary to have other CICS tools – like Performance Analyzer, Interdependency Analyzer or Configuration Manager installed in order to utilize the CICS Explorer. I even found some place that said you did not need to have CICSPlex SM set up (just needs the API?).

With that being said, what functionality would a company see if they installed the Explorerer and did not have any of these other optional tools installed.
